What is Airgun Field Target?
The essence of Airgun Field Target is shooting at resettable metal targets which have been placed at random, unknown distances. Shooting is mostly freestyle though some targets may be posted for kneeling shots or standing shots. Air rifle ranges are from 10 yards to 55 yards and pistol ranges are 10 to 30 yards. The targets have a kill zone of 3/8" to 1-1/2". If a pellet goes cleanly through the hole, the target falls and then is reset for the next shot. Our matches usually consist of about 36 to 60 shots taken at 12 to 20 targets (three shots per target).
